Word Webs

word webs are a pretty simple idea really. Think of a subject word, such as food and write it in the middle of a blank piece of paper. Then think of categories and write them as headings around that central word. Such as fast food or Italian food Then write a list of words under each category word. Such as hamburgers and pizza

The diagram will help you remember the words in a more visual way.

Of course you can make the word webs much more complex. And to get that higher IELTS band, you'll need to use a wider vocabulary; so try making one for emotions using categories for anger, happiness, boredom and so on.

Keep the number of words under each category the same, then you know that you have to remember, say, five words for each one.
